THE SOUNDS OF SILENCE

  • Can you sit in the silence when no one is speaking?
  • Can you sit in the silence and wait to see how your body reacts?
  • Can you sit in the silence and realise it’s not silent at all … There are so many things to see, feel and hear if you allow the space.

In the world of TikTok, Instagram and never ending clickbait….we jump from one topic to another and look for instant and ongoing stimulation.

An industry has been made on Mindfulness.  There are Apps, Podcasts and YouTubes.

You already have what you need, you just need to learn to sit still, to be silent and to accept the space that is presented to you.

  • Start small…. 1 minute… increase it gradually.    Notice the space around you, above you, below you, to the front, back, your left and right. 
  • When you are in a conversation, wait and listen, really listen.   See when they are excited, notice their body language, give them time to speak and trust yourself, you will know what to say when they have finished speaking.
  • Notice how your body feels…. Don’t judge just notice… stay curious… what does it do…. What stays the same, what changes with time.  (PS: You can do this whilst you are actually with someone else……it just takes practice)

There is so much learning and beauty in the silence… trust yourself with it.
